I thought about all those times when I let fear take the front seat. I thought about the days when I felt like why even bother doing something if I was likely fail?
I had always just thought that individuals who start companies were "male, pale, and Yale." I thought about the discussions that I had with a friend before becoming a coach and an entrepreneur that growing up. the fear of being the mistake in the eyes of the selection committee. When I applied for this opportunity, I experienced a tremendous amount of self-doubt (still do most days). To me, "imposter" has always felt like a fitting and a seductive word it's the syndrome aspect of it that has always made it feel like a much steeper hill to climb, especially as a female, a minority, and someone who didn't come from an entrepreneurial, risk-taking family. It's a privilege to be a member of your community.Īnd here's the role that David Goggins, a cookie jar, and imposter syndrome played in the journey up to this point.
